About the event
Join us for an inspiring workshop with Sana A Rashid, an accomplished educator and poet whose work transcends borders. With collaborations across India, the USA, and England, Sana is committed to making poetry more accessible and engaging for diverse audiences. As a British Pakistani Muslim, she understands the vital role of representation in literature and advocates for the inclusion of more books by writers from the global majority, particularly within academic settings. Her poetry celebrates bilingualism, offering a deep exploration of the emotional layers within everyday South Asian experiences.
In this workshop, we’ll explore Sana’s passion for words and her unwavering commitment to equality and justice. Through her poetry, she creates space for voices often unheard, and we’ll discuss how her work seeks to elevate marginalized narratives. This session promises to be a thoughtful and enriching dialogue, shedding light on the significance of representation in art and literature, and offering participants a chance to reflect on how poetry can be a transformative tool for social change.
All ticket holders will recieve a recording of the session to watch back at your convenience.
