The Art of the Word: Arabic Calligraphy & Calligraffiti

Join us for a unique and exciting event exploring the art of the word through calligraphy and calligraffiti with a special focus on Islamic art. This event is perfect for anyone interested in art, typography, or Islamic culture.

Featuring renowned calligraphers and calligraffiti artists from around the world, who will share their knowledge and expertise on the topic, you will learn about the history of calligraphy and calligraffiti, as well as the various techniques and styles used in Islamic art.

As part of this event, you will have the opportunity to hear from experts in the field, who will provide insights into the cultural significance of Islamic calligraphy and calligraffiti and ask them questions.

Hatem Arafa is a master calligraphy artist and graphic designer. He studied traditional Islamic arts in Istanbul, Turkey.

Hatem presents courses for teaching Arabic calligraphy and Islamic illumination. He was featured in many exhibitions and projects worldwide, most recently creating the Crest of Assassins Creed ‘Mirage’ and the designs of the skill tree inside the game ,with UBISOFT Co. Kareemgraphy (Abdul Kareem) is a calligraffiti artist and designer who experiments with his masterstrokes using calligraphy and graffiti art.  He devoted years to learning traditional calligraphy from the masters. He was the official artist for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and has worked with many brands across the globe. He creates fantastic strokes with letters blended with modern art.  Kareemgraphy passionately utilizes his art to promote calligraphy and raise awareness about social issues. He recently performed at the International Graffiti Festival held in May 2023 in Central Java, Indonesia.  Spreading his passion for art and calligraphy, he founded Kagrart, a centre for training and promoting art and calligraphy in 2020 in Calicut, India. https://www.instagram.com/kareemgraphy/?hl=en

Teakster is an award-winning artist, whose artistic style is a fusion of Middle-Eastern artistic traditions and modern techniques inspired by his British upbringing. His work has been featured in publications and exhibitions across the USA, UAE, Europe, and the Far East for over a decade.
